We have several learn-to-sail learn-to-cruise programs and offer sailing excursions and day trips throughout the summer. For information on day trips and charters click here We are especially interested in helping other women to get afloat with their own boats and offer a two day live-aboard class for women only aboard our 32 footer ( see below). |
We offer:

Individualized lessons with an experienced Coast Guard licensed adult instructor
Varied sailing conditions on protected and open water
We can also arrange to go out with you on your own vessel for instruction
Silver Waters Sailing Classes
Start To Sail A
two hour introduction
In this class you will experience
getting underway, basic maneuvering under sail and rigging the boat
using a nineteen foot Lightning sloop.
Cost $60 for 2 hours of
instruction individual $100 for a couple
Sailing
Basics three two hour classes
You'll become
familiar with getting underway, points of sail, anchoring, picking up
a mooring, docking and basic safety afloat, rules of the road, and
wind and weather on our local waters. We'll also cover some simple
ship keeping and maintenance skills.
Cost $180 per person or
$300 per couple
Especially
for Spouses
This is a customized course of
instruction designed to help "first mates" gain confidence
in their abilities to manage a boat alone if need be during a cruise
of day sail. It runs a half or a full day

Two
Day Learn-To-Sail/Cruise Women's Weekend
Weekend or
weekday live-aboard course especially for women aboard our 32
foot cruising sloop. Learn basic cruising and sailing skills at your
own pace on Lake Ontario with instructor Susan Peterson Gateley. This
class is designed for women with limited sailing experience who would
like to enhance their skills while sampling cruising on our Great
Lake. Package includes two days of instruction, and a introduction to
sailing Lake Ontario manual. Cost is $250 per person. Accommodations
are available at the Pleasant Beach B&B where we are docked or at
other cabins and B&B's including the waterfront B&B Anchor
Resort, waterfront Chinook Harbor cabins or the Fair Haven Motel.

Two Day Live Learn to Sail Weekend for Couples
This course is an introduction to cruising the Big Lakes for couples. You'll spend one night ashore ( or aboard the boat dockside) and receive two days of instruction and hands on sailing aboard our 32 footer as we explore the south shore of Lake Ontario. We'll cover anchoring, docking, man overboard recovery and other cruising and survival skills following the ASA certification curriculum. Space limited to one couple per cruise so you'll get plenty of time on the helm. Please give us at least 30 days advance notice and we will attempt to accommodate your schedule.
